Prancing into spring

It was a cold and windy day in late April

And the beavers were busy down by the lake.

The chill in the air did nothing

To dampen the enthusiasm of Ruby and Simmie —

Look at those ears fly!

Being down at the lake

Means only one thing: swimming fun!

(That’s Ruby jumping in so elegantly.)

Later on, Simmie showed me the true meaning

Of prancing as I enjoyed the view across the water

And dreamed of warmer days.

  2. Hello, Ruby and Simmie are beautiful dogs. They do look like they are loving the lake and just running free. Great photos. Happy Monday, enjoy your new week ahead!

  3. All that tree needs is a gentle push! I see the trees weren’t in leaf yet, but at least the lake ice is gone. Water must be chilly though!

  4. Fiona, you always capture the most beautiful moments! What faaaaaaaaabulous photographs!

And I must be part dog because, like Ruby and Simmie, cold and windy days don’t dampen my enthusiasm either – ha!

Love the shot of the tree!

Have a super week, my friend!

  5. Oh my goodness! Look what the beavers have done! We don’t get that in southern England! 🙂 And a fine entry by Ruby!

    1. We have moved further round the shore of the same lake. It’s about 20 mins away on foot through the woods now.

  6. Such inviting photos! I cannot believe the damage beavers have done to the tree in your first photo. I have been wanting to see one since I saw a documentary about their habits.
