My daughter and I visited Stockholm during the last weekend
Before school and work started.
The sky was heavy with the promise of more snow.
The pastel buildings looked like cakes
Topped with icing.
(Look at the height of the city’s Christmas tree – 38 metres tall
And decorated with 5,000 lights!)
Fairy tale buildings
Brightened the gloomy sky;
And optimism was not lost
In the knee-deep snow!
(Not sure if that cyclist ever managed to cycle home though!)
For more snowy views or sunny vistas, please go to: Our World.
I just love those buildings. The pastel shades are so unassuming yet so impressive with a beauty of their own. The bicycle is superb.

Stockholm really does look like a fairy-tale city, Fiona. It’s on my list of places to go. No plans yet, however. Sigh.
We can only go on old-dog-friendly places, and then only if Lindy is up to it. As long as we have a blind, elderly dog, we won’t be doing any major travel. Maybe we’d drive to Seattle and up to Vancouver to see my family, because my young brother hasn’t been well, but that’s about it. I do have an overseas travel list, and Scandinavia is right up there near the top.
Now I must post something for Our World.

Lovely! I laughed when I saw the bike! Makes it look like an interesting piece of art but feel sorry for the owner. Hope he was already at home.

And it’s been wonderful to see your children growing and the joy of your lovely dogs. Thank you so much for the work you do to make the world a more beautiful place! Cheers, Danette
