Swan song

I heard a huge flapping of wings.

A swan flew by so close that I thought

I could just reach out a finger

And touch one of its glorious feathers.

  1. Wow! You get so used to seeing a Swan’s neck in that beautiful S shape. To see it spear-like is quite something – wonderful image, Fiona. So different.

    1. I was so astounded to see the swan in flight. It’s not often you see them flying – and so close. And I was so lucky that I had my camera with me too.

  2. I share your thought. Being on the migration path, each spring Whistler Swans, Tundra Swans, Snow Geese and the always present Canadian Goose fly over and often land close on their journey north. They are always spell binding.

  4. This grand image reminds me of a Japanese legendary hero whose soul turned into a big white bird soaring into the sky. Thank you for a great shot!
