Summer sweets

I haven’t had time to upload and go through my holiday photos yet,

So thought I’d share what makes summer so special.

It can be a stunning swan sunset,

Or a bee pollinating a poppy.

It is the discovery

Of flowers wearing wigs,

And the pink fireworks

Of an onion flower.

Summer swan

Life is busy with deadlines, work

And enjoying the beauty of summer,

So I won’t be able to visit your blogs this week.

Green was the silence, wet was the light,
the month of June trembled like a butterfly….
~Pablo Neruda

Swan Lake Abstract

Dazzling golden light

Dances on the lake,

Golden swan lake copy

While the swan

Sails majestically on ripples.

Golden ripples copy

As the sun sets and twilight descends,

Lake and swan

Become a beautiful abstract.

(Summer is a gorgeous time in ‘my’ backyard!)

I’m selling these shots as prints, posters, photos, bags and cushions on my Red Bubble site. * End of shameless self-marketing*

Swan, bedazzled

On a carpet of burnished gold

Swims a swan

In the dancing light

Of a shimmering sunset.

Swan lake

Sometimes the silence and the grey

Descend so softly

That you can almost hear the peace of the cloudy reflections.

Later on, the moody skies

Turn purple

And the old jetty seems to stretch out

Towards the swans

Dancing on the edge of infinity.

Swan song

I heard a huge flapping of wings.

A swan flew by so close that I thought

I could just reach out a finger

And touch one of its glorious feathers.

Swan lake

After days and days of snow and rain,

The air is washed clear

And ready to receive the golden bowl of the sun

As it rises into the blue

Dawn of a new day.

A swan glided by.

The sun kissed the water with

Its diamond lips.

My heart was full of light.

In the right light, at the right time, everything is extraordinary.  ~Aaron Rose

I’m off to enjoy some sun-dazzled times of my own with the family this week — in Disneyland, Paris. Oscar will be with friends, and my blog and I will be taking a rest. See you on Friday!
