Spring salsa

Here in Sweden, we have a fifth season that I like to call Springter.

It’s that mixture of spring and winter —

With spring promising warmth one day,

Only to go back two steps to winter;

Then forward a step to spring.

You could say it’s spring and winter

Performing a salsa!

  1. I love the photos of your springter. We call it that here to and it has just started snowing here after a short break. We’re supposed to get 10-15 cm. today! Have a beautiful week no matter the weather. xx Pam

  2. Hello, sounds like the perfect name Springter. I prefer spring over winter though! Cute puppy dog and lovely wintry images. Happy Monday, enjoy your day and the week ahead!

  3. Springter is a great way to explain it…. We had a mild winder until a week ago.. Then (after the flowers were blooming) we had a huge freeze…. Mother Nature isn’t always nice!!!!!

    Great pictures.

    LOVE that, Fiona! That’s FLAWLESS! We too in America are experiencing the same Springter – the weather here has been both winter and spring combined – back and forth.

    GORGEOUS photographs! Brava, my friend!

    Have a super week!

  5. Your fifth season Spring salsa, I will most happily trade for our fifth season Spring mud bowl. The mix of colour, snow and bright light showing off golden coat just shouts spring. Here it maple sap is running, drip by drip. For the last two half weeks swans have been migrating pass. Male Robins have been here for awhile and their mates have just arrived -romance is in the air. your pictures make me optimistic for a full blown blooming Shhhhspring.

  6. We share “Sprinster” with you! Because of our high altitude –over 6,000 feet, we often have snow one day warm sunshine the next, in Spring.

  8. That first capture with the snow on the flower is magical. As a photographer, I think I would like Springeter, but not as a human. I am not a fan of winter, so its return would not please me.

  9. I really enjoy seeing your dogs go through the seasons, you have no idea how much joy it gives me to see your goldens as they go through their days and the different weather. As we don’t have our golden anymore it gives me so much pleasure to see yours.

  10. Or what’s that dance where they dance as if they’re fighting — maybe the Australian Tango? Anyway there is hope (for those who are ready for Spring) — Ruby looks pretty happy with things as they are.
