The ghost of Christmas past

All our snow melted and we ended up having a green Christmas.

This is nothing new – I found these shots of my dear, departed Oscar

About to enjoy a Christmas Eve swim under a canopy

Of perfect reflections from a few years ago.

A timely reminder that there is beauty

  1. With love I remember Oscar.
    It was a wonderful dog.
    Well, that is his successor.

    Fiona, your photos are excellent.

May God spread prosperity and joy in your life on this New Year and fulfill all your dreams.
    Happy New Year.

  3. Oh, Fi, how wonderful to see a photo of Oscar. I’m sure he is still sorely missed. Our elderly Golden, Lindy, has become a couch potato in her old age, and we watch her closely to see that she is still happy. We know we will have to help her out when the time comes, but not yet. She still enjoys her daily traditions, and easily adapts from my list of Lindy-Things to her daddy’s larger list. They have quite a production going early in the morning while I’m still asleep…food, meds, veggies, all in a certain order which I don’t follow. He has been away for a few days, visiting his daughters farther north. I’ve been sniffly and snuffly and didn’t want to pass my sniffles to any of the grandsons.
Cheers from here in icy Alberta. Wishing you and your wonderful family all the best in the coming year. I did manage to remain healthy over Christmas, and cooked more food than was required by our two selves, a daughter and son-in-law, and a grandson and granddaughter. I’ve vowed never to cook Christmas dinner again, and threw out the roasting pan to prove my point.
Hugs to all of you, and the dogs,
    Kay

  4. Great sky and lovely dog.

I saw this carefully painted in script on the window of a pet store in Greenwich. I thought you might like it.:-

  7. Our Christmases are generally brown and spring-like. The colder weather usually follows afterwards and that’s just the way it is this year, too. I love the photos! The pink streaked skies reflecting off the water is beautiful and Oscar looks so handsome. I’m sorry to read that he’s no longer with you. I always enjoyed seeing how you used him in your photography. I know it’s sad not having him around but you have a lot of good memories tied up in your photos of that pup! Have a good day and may 2017 bring you many good blessings!
