Golden waves

The kids spent most of their time

In Ericeira, Portugal, surfing.

Some days, the waves

Were big and foamy and fun.

Some days, the lessons took place

Just as the sun was setting

And it looked as if the surfers

Were gliding on gilded waves.

  1. Our beach on the Atlantic is only 12 miles from our home, but because of the urgency of moving, we can’t enjoy it now. Thanks for transporting me there, if only vicariously, Fiona.

  2. Water dancers, Ocean daredevils. Kids just gotta have fun. Bravo to them, your young Renegades. Learning to love life to it’s fullest.

  3. STUNNING captures, Fiona! I love how you caught the sunlight on the water, like sparkling gold diamonds!

These images reminded me of living in Florida and watching the surfers ride the waves.

  4. how very cool. we went to the ocean, but i did not surf. i doubt the waves would have been enough to get up, but they were wonderful to jump – and to look upon the glitter on the waves.
