Summer rain

It’s been one of the wettest summers on record

Here in Sweden.

The flowers aren’t complaining.

In fact, they seem to unfurl

Are happy just to be.

My parents need some help this week, so I’m away in England again. I might not be able to visit you or reply to your comments. But please know they are much appreciated.

  1. These are such lovely shots. I always enjoy seeing a photo of rain or dew on a flower’s petals. We have had a somewhat wet summer here in Virginia also, and even when it’s not raining it seems as though it is overcast and cloudy. Rather an odd summer.

  2. Peonies, Irises, Roses – beautiful closeups – and all I associate with Mother. I wish we could import some of our rain supply to California, which has been in serious drought for years now.

Enjoy your stay in England, Fiona. I know your parents appreciate it.

  3. Fiona, each and everyone of these images are beyond STUNNING! I know I’ve said this many times before, but I have to say it again…you are SO gifted with the camera!

Yes, it’s been a very rainy summer here as well.

Enjoy your time in England, my friend!

  4. These pictures are amazing!
Maybe we can share some of the hot weather with you and take some rain in return? Nature here in Germany really needs it πŸ™‚
I hope you’ll have a good time with your parents this week.

  5. here in the south west of germany it’s dry and hothothot – our flowers would appreciate the rain – me too πŸ˜‰
    beautiful flower pics !!!

  6. Superb captures as always!! I do love the rain drops on the flowers!! Such a delightful, colorful way to begin my day!! Thank you!! Hope you have a great new week!!

  7. Happy flowers drinking in the rain. I think that weather in England has been very changeable this summer, but it’s going to be around 25C in the south tomorrow! I think I’ve experienced the hottest, most uncomfortable summer in Switzerland since I’ve been living here! I hope that all will be well with your parents.

  8. Record setting hot and dry in the Pacific Northwest of the USA… A middle ground would be nice. Lovely Pictures! Beautiful.

  9. Sorry about the rain, but I am glad it makes the flowers happy. They are all lovely blooms and images. I hope all is well and that you have a happy week!

  10. When it rains it pours. But the flowers seem happy, it shows in your photos. If nature is happy in the end that is all that matters. I wouldn’t say we have had a washed out summer in my little area like your Sweden, just enough to keep the greens green, the pinks pink and whites white in the garden outback. I’ll take rain over fire any day.

  11. Best wishes to your parents; hope things are not too serious. Your flowers are absolutely stunning; there really is something wonderful about raindrops on roses (I think that should be a line in a song don’t you ;>)?) ….

  12. Our summer is one of the hottest these years and I’m so relieved with evening shower as rain can soften the heat. Your flowers look happy and beautiful with raindrops. I’ve learned terrible heat wave in London. Wish your mother a good health. Your visit will encourage her. Take care.

  13. Beautiful pictures ! Can’t believe that your summer is so wet ! In Belgium the farmers complain because it doesn’t rain ! Such a long time we hadn’t such a nice summer !

  14. Lovely flower shots….here in my area of the USA we had quite the rainy spring and summer….much more than usual and just keeping up with the weeds and grass cutting was hard to do. Then it abruptly stopped. No more grass cutting…watering instead! πŸ™‚

  15. One of the wettest summers in Sweden… and for other hand, here in Portugal, is being one of the driest summers on record.
    Please, send us some rain.

  16. Hope all is well with your parents. It has not been overly wet, though when we were in Florida this week we had rain most every day as it is normal there. Its done something lovely to your flowers.

  17. Your flowers are gorgeous, they do seem to love the rain don’t they…heres to some sunshine. I was telling Connie, from far side that maybe you should bring us both some rain, we are both very dry here.

I hope that everything works out with your parents…it’s hard when you don’t live nearby.
