Summer rain
It’s been one of the wettest summers on record
Here in Sweden.
The flowers aren’t complaining.
In fact, they seem to unfurl
To drink in the rain
While unopened buds
Are happy just to be.
My parents need some help this week, so I’m away in England again. I might not be able to visit you or reply to your comments. But please know they are much appreciated.
For more rainy or sunny shots, please visit: Our World.
I always find flowers with raindrops are beautiful to look at, so refreshing. Hope everything is well with your parents. Take care.

These are such lovely shots. I always enjoy seeing a photo of rain or dew on a flower’s petals. We have had a somewhat wet summer here in Virginia also, and even when it’s not raining it seems as though it is overcast and cloudy. Rather an odd summer.

Peonies, Irises, Roses – beautiful closeups – and all I associate with Mother. I wish we could import some of our rain supply to California, which has been in serious drought for years now.
Enjoy your stay in England, Fiona. I know your parents appreciate it.

Happy flowers drinking in the rain. I think that weather in England has been very changeable this summer, but it’s going to be around 25C in the south tomorrow! I think I’ve experienced the hottest, most uncomfortable summer in Switzerland since I’ve been living here! I hope that all will be well with your parents.

When it rains it pours. But the flowers seem happy, it shows in your photos. If nature is happy in the end that is all that matters. I wouldn’t say we have had a washed out summer in my little area like your Sweden, just enough to keep the greens green, the pinks pink and whites white in the garden outback. I’ll take rain over fire any day.
