Summer rain

Summer is here in all its glory.

And that, of course, includes the soft summer rain

Bringing a chill with it that makes us appreciate the sun even more.

Just as a flower is thankful for the rain,

So am I thankful for all the small beauties that surround me.

Let your life lightly dance on the edges of Time like dew on the tip of a leaf.
– Rabindranath Tagore

  1. Pleasing images… I’m a big fan of outdoor macro photography. You done well with yours.

Water droplets, such as on yours, adds a lot of viewer interest to a photo.

Much of my photography is in arid or desert environments. Dew or rain drops on desert plants is rare. Folks from my neck of the woods usually carry a water bottle with a fine mist atomizer that allows us to artificially add water droplets. 🙂

It has the added benefit that the photographer has full control over the number and size of the water droplets on their flora subjects that you don’t normally have.

Desert flora photographers always have their atomizer handy. We call it the flora photographer’s best friend. lol!!

  2. Breathtaking captures as always, Ladyfi! We’ve had SO much rain this year, but I’m still grateful for the beauty it brings! Not to mention, our temperatures are a lot more desirable than the incredible heat that has covered most of this country. Thanks for sharing the beauty! I love the droplets of water on the blossoms! Exquisite! Hope you have a great week!

  3. Lovely shots, Fiona. Especially the reflections in your macro raindrop. And a beautiful shot of Oscar too in your last post. I get the impression he’s happy whatever the weather. 🙂

  6. Your photography — which was perfect to begin with — just keeps getting better and better. I too am grateful for ordinary days and the beauty of ordinary things. (I just wish I could take pictures of them half as well as you do.

  7. Ladyfi, I haven’t seen such beautiful rain drops. Your artistic sense made me speechless! I realized my vocabulary is too small to express my admiration. Amazing photos. I do love all of them.
