Morning has broken

Last week, the world was bathed in light, with the sense of new beginnings and possibilities.

And I couldn’t help thinking of Cat Stevens singing:

Morning has broken like the first morning.

Blackbird has spoken like the first bird.

Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning.

The feather touch of frost, the misty dawn, those glorious colours found an echo, a song in my soaring spirit.

  1. My goodness, this is the most exquisite morning sky I have ever seen. Look at all those pastel shades of pink, blue, green and yellow that differ so much from the deep red and orange during sunsets. And the mist adds a sense of enchantment…
This is a magical moment captured by a lens, if there ever was one. Stunning and breath taking indeed…

  2. I am thinking that your photo should be blown up and pasted all over walls across the world. Peace, love, and happiness emanate from that shot.

  3. Fi, of all your wonderful photos, this series is awesome. I’m wondering what made those concentric circles just off the wharf? (Oh – just read that it was Oscar!)

Glad to see from the comments that the ripples were Oscar’s! Was wondering who or what it was!!

That song is going around and around in my head though now …..

  5. I love Cat Stevens. His songs always make me feel good. I need to listen to him more often.

And the second photo looks like it could be one of those inspirational posters. Lovely!

  6. Beautiful photos to go with the song. I’ve had that song in my head for about a week now. Not sure where it came from (other than my morning walks, I suppose).
