It’s still very cold in the mornings and evenings (below zero) —
But oh, what a joy it is
To see the light returning in shades of orange

Early morning dawn:
I take out my mobile phone as I sit in a car and capture
The romance of the sky over Stockholm.
(I like the way the car window frames the cityscape.)
On the way home from work,
Lilac and pink clouds
Bid the sun farewell at sunset.

It’s a frosty dawn,
And the moon reflects in the still waters of the lake
Like a penny dipped in silver.
The golden trees are a tapestry of light.
Later on, we get to the little beach by the sauna house:
The moon is gone,
But not the beauty of a calm, early morning with frost.

Whether in the early morning,
With fog and stripes of light;
Or dressed in purple gauze
At first light;
And even winging away at sunset
On the tips of feathers —
September’s swan song is beautiful.

Late August is a beautiful time of year
Fields of gold glow in the early morning;
Curtains of light float to the ground;
And diamond drops glitter
In the deliciously chilly air.

It was a cool morning —
And a mist was rising up from the hay bales in the field.
As always, my favourite model poses for me against the rising sun.
“Hay down there!” she seems to say.
She was pretty pleased with herself
For jumping up so high.
“I’ve got to bale now!” she says, and then jumps down
To go home.
(Hope these bad puns aren’t the last straw.)

This winter saw some golden mornings —
With treetops tinged by hoar frost and the first rays of the sun,
So that the very trees looked
As if they were floating in mist and diamonds.

One of my favourite early morning sights
Was the old jetty
Stretching into the beyond.
(I’m away all weekend so won’t be able to visit your blogs.)

The dawn glowed apricot
And the moon hung gloriously golden in the sky.
Ruby loves jumping up onto rocks —
The higher the better.
Photo taken with my iPhone.

The lull between big snow storms
Is painted in clouds of purple
And blue that roll over the landscape
As the sun slowly rises to say hello.
And, of course, my poser Ruby
Looks good in that early morning light.
(Meanwhile, Simmie just prefers to run around
In circles enjoying the snow! :-))
