It’s approaching gently, the F word.
You can’t feel it in the heart of the day,
But in the cooling of the morning breeze
And the tender setting of the evening sun.
Old old wood embraces the sun and shines like a ruby.
It has seen the passing of hundreds of seasons
Welcoming each one like a friend.
Soon, it whispers, the F word will be here.
Fall. Autumn. Welcome back, dear friend…

We are still having temperatures in the mid to upper 90s with the heat index making it feel like 100. However, there have been moments late in the evening where there is just a hint of that F word. It will be here before we know it.

Autumn. That time of year when the leaves turn in a serene explosion of unsurpassed beauty, when the air is high and finally, oh finally, so cool, and the mist slowly rising among the morning trees in the mercifully weak sunshine gives way to the autumn wind. This, I think, is the most beautiful country in the world. And the most serene. The October Country.
All the best,

I love Fall! If it would just last longer and not give way to that next season, I’d stay in Fall forever.

Oh, I know what you mean…that darned old “F” word is heading our way, too. On the other hand, the “W” word is even worse!! I think you can guess what that is.

Oh no, not the F word. I’m never ready for that. Or is it the W word that follows. Interesting look against the sky. Really like the house.

Ah, the F word! And, oh, yes, it is approaching! I’ve already seen many trees here whose leaves are turning! I’m really not ready this year! The summer has seemed so SHORT! But the days are getting shorter and even the sunny days aren’t that warm! But I have to admit that all our seasons have a beauty when you take the time to look!! Wonderful post, lovely photos! Wishing you a lovely weekend!

We in my part of India have no falls. How I love the fall colors that I see in the pictures (and sometimes when I am in UK in falls). Lovely pictures both.

The thing I love about fall are the colors. It’s a great introduction of winter. It’s a good thing we don’t get freezing winters in California, not the snowing kind anyway but we still complain about the cold.

Oh BTW, when I meant not the snowing kind, I meant San Francisco, California. hehehe
