The first cool morning:
Autumn mist is golden
As it caresses trees
And floats over the lone dog walker.

Late August is a beautiful time of year
Fields of gold glow in the early morning;
Curtains of light float to the ground;
And diamond drops glitter
In the deliciously chilly air.

Autumn is a good time for the deer:
One minute you only see fields,
And the next minute, the deer are there.
Their dance is perfectly synchronized:
Eyes front …
(And look surprised).
And enjoy the golden light of autumn.

A chilly morning dawned
Bringing out the colours of the leaves
And the swans.
They appeared out of the mist
Like feathered ships.
The sun bursting through the trees
Placed stripes of light on the swan’s neck.
Closer and closer the swan sailed
Beautiful in the lilac dawn.

A strange pink glow
Beckoned me out into the storm.
There on the rickety jetty,
Was a lone goose
Staring out into the sunset.
It was a moment full of poignancy and beauty.

And the whisper of autumn.

Autumn went by in the blink of an eye,
But before it disappeared, it left some dewy gifts:

Adorned with a spider’s web,
A glorious necklace of dewdrops
On soft petals,
And a dreamy

Autumn is a time of exuberant energy —
It’s quite zensational, in fact.
The golden coins of leaves
Hang like happy suns in the trees;
The light in the woods
Everywhere you go,
You can see flying leaves
(Those black dots aren’t dirt, they are leaves!)
And beautiful views.
And the best thing about autumn
Is that you’re never too old
To frolic in the leaves.

Autumn is a glowing time of year:
When trees glow
And leaves catch fire.
It’s a joyful time
Of dewy play
Showing off their families on the local lake.
And, if you’re lucky,
You can catch frosted jewels
Among the leaves.

It’s a new day, a new season.
The rising sun reminds me of the beauty in the world.
Satin reflections on the lake
Bring a sense of calm;
And my jetty always has the most

Late September sunsets
Are when cloud rainbows reflect in water
And autumn dances in
Wearing lilac veils.
