Bella Luna

After unseasonably warm weather, December finally got into winter mode with a sudden sharp frost

That let us walk on a carpet of diamonds.

And the moon – oh that glorious honeydew melon of a moon…

It hung in the early morning sky, a golden honey orb that painted the world in gold and silver and ice.

Here’s wishing you all a remarkable new year…

The moon is amazing. What a clear blue sky and what is that diagonal line going through the moon?

  5. I love full moons reflected on water, but here the moon always appears too high in the sky to be able to capture both it and the sea. These are lovely pictures.

  6. Those are wonderful pictures, and I truly enjoyed them. It’s amazing how the lens of a camera can take our everyday reality, and isolate the specifics in such a way that the surroundings are rendered magical. Doesn’t that first picture make you think of that? The endless possibilities of all the little worlds on those diamonds of ice.

    Well spotted, and well photographed!

  7. *sigh* walking on a carpet of diamonds! Poetry for the ears and lips as well as the photos are for the eyes. The shots are beautiful. Good to see what the moon looked like on from two different continents! I’m so glad you stopped by my blog again and directed me to this! 🙂
