Harvest time is here —
I love the patterns created by the hay bales.
A first splash of red
Holds the promise of autumn.
The woods are teeming
With blueberries, lingonberries and chanterelles.
As always, Ruby is Queen of the Hay Bales
And reminds us always to be outstanding in our field
(Or walk of life).

Right now I’m on my book tour in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Hay bales are a common sight in the farmland here. We see square bales. Ruby, I see, is enjoying the round!

She is definitely Queen of the Hay! I don’t know why I never thought of Sweden having farm country. Stupid of me … I must travel more (or perhaps read more, but that is not quitevas much fun,).

A beautiful sight of European bay hales. Rolled with nice form and symmetry. Driving through the countryside here in the US, most are square bay hales. Boring. I want sexy bay hales. I’m a dog lover too and wish they can live to 20 years old the max. I’m not asking too much, right?
