I like the autumn skies:
With a dog or two

Let me take you on an autumn walk —
Through crunchy leaves and quiet fields of deer.
Down to the lake we go,
Simmie leads the way to upside-down peace.
Further along, Ruby – Queen of jumping on stones –
Poses in front of a tree in full foliage firework.

I drink in the autumn beauty
Of upside down leaves with dog;
Of torches made of leaves
Lighting the way slowly
But surely to winter;
I sing the days of

I have a very busy week ahead so may not get round to commenting on your blogs.
As the sun rises,
The glorious trees glow in the light.
Geese call to each other;
Their reflections dot the water.
Peaceful skies return when they disappear.
It’s hard for the sky to compete with autumn
At this time of year.

Our winter snow has washed away in the rain,
So I’m still hanging on to autumn.
(Pictures taken a couple of weeks ago.)
I can’t get enough of the bright reflections,
The emerald of the evergreens
Blending with the fiery colours of the birch trees.
The blueberry forests are green once again,
But I spy a furry friend in her autumn coat.

The bare bones of autumn
With rich splashes of colour are delightful.
The fiery lanterns of leaves
Hang upside down in still waters.
And all that gold from the autumn sun
Is reflected back on furry coat and field.

If autumn could be summed up in a picture, it would be this one:
Golden leaves, the sauna house and Ruby posing by the water.
Simmie would rather explore
And swim than pose.
A week later, even more leaves have fallen off the trees,
Like whispers, and I see another portrait of the sauna house
Peeking out from behind the leaves.

It’s early autumn here …
And the fields are full of wildflowers still —
And a dog or two.
(A wolf was spotted here a couple of weeks ago too, but it’s long gone.)
There’s nothing more wonderful
Than running free in autumn colours.

I love the soft, misty feel of autumn —
Especially when a deer family decides to rest in the fields as I take my photo!
The temperatures are still quite mild
And Simmie loves nothing more than swimming in the lake.
This is his face when I ask him to come out. (That’s right – he doesn’t want to!)
As for Ruby,
She is content just catching leaves.

The equinox has been and gone,
Which means it’s getting dark so early on in the evenings.
We have to chase the light —
Or perhaps the light is chasing us.
(This is Simmie, who turned four this weekend.)
But when the sun comes out,
The woods are filled with gold.
