I had a great visit with my mum in England.
The day of my arrival saw the tail end of Hurricane Ophelia,
Which created a lovely background for sheep silhouettes.
The next day was warm and misty.
On our walk, we saw a strange, n-ewe species:
The two-headed sheep!
(Sorry about the baa-d pun.)
Our destination was this old, Saxon church
Dating back to the late 11th century.
My father is buried in this beautiful (and slightly isolated) location.
I’m busy this week with work so will only be posting once.
For more postcards, please go to: Our World.
And check out: Skywatch.
Ah—-this is neat!!!!! Love the Two headed sheep… ha ha ha…
What a great place for a cemetery… Your father is definitely buried in a peaceful place.
Hugs,
Betsy

Interesting to note that the alphabetical names of disastrous hurricanes in the Caribbean and USA mainland (namely Irma, Maria, Nate) continued across the Atlantic – Ophelia. We hope this is THE END of the 2017 storm season. You make the best of the end-of-storm sky with your camera. I’m so glad your visit with mum was congenial. Now back to work – for both of us.

Your photographs are BEYOND stunning! That last one of the cemetery/church is like work of art. It actually looks like a painting from the 11th century! The mist in the air is so beautiful!
Thanks for sharing, my friend. Have a super week!

The colour of the sky was weird when Ophelia hit the UK … we were amazed to see it and it did cause quite a stir.
I’m laughing at the two headed sheep.

Lovely English countryside and photos. My grandparents are buried in a similar, isolated English church, and I’m embarrassed to admit how long it is since I’ve been there, but I have no relatives left there that would recognize me.

Oh ewe.
Am always amazed when I see images from the UK, especially buildings. There are hinges on doors still in use that are older than the country I live in.

The green of the cemetery is amazing especially with the old stone and mist behind it. I think the weirdo hurricane created those two-headed sheep along with an awesome sunset. I adore the little critters you can see silhouetted behind and beneath the barbed wire.

Beautiful photos Fiona! LOVE the old church. That building was built 400 – 500 years before the first (known) building in the United States. Things like this really bring home, the fact the U.S. is still a new country.
