During my recent trip to New York, the lovely Daryl from Out and About in New York
Graciously invited me to take photos from her offices way up high in the Freedom Tower.
And I got to meet a blogging friend in real life – always a treat!
The views were magnificent
And you could see the city and water reflecting back at you.
Underneath one large window, there was a lovely view
Of the southern pool in the 9/11 Memorial Plaza.
The water sparkled in the sunlight
And it was difficult to tell the trees
Apart from their shadows.
For more reflection, please visit: Our World.
Great pictures. I hope to get back to NYC sometime and see the new Freedom Tower….
Hugs,
Betsy

Fiona, these photographs are fantabulous! Magnificent views indeed! I love how you can see the Statue of Liberty in the first photo. And that last photograph of the shadowy trees is brilliant!
I have yet to visit the Freedom Tower. I was in NYC right before it opened because a blogging friend of mine used to work downtown Manhattan, in a building right across the street from where the Twin Towers once stood.
Thanks for sharing pics of my favorite city, my friend! Have a terrific week!

What an awe-inspiring sight! The huge buildings mirroring their surroundings give an openness to what otherwise might seem like a closed high-rise world. Very nice to be seeing all this with the help of a fellow blogger in person.

Hi,
I like the way you captured the people as well as the pool. Prayers to all … memories of September 11!
My other favorite is your photo with the trees, you are right, it is hard to tell the shadow from the tree.
Amazing photos as always,
Carla

That is a truly spectacular view. I’m hoping to get to the Freedom Tower in my upcoming trip to NYC, I’ll see if I can fit it in between business. I’m not sure I’d like to see the pool from my office as it would remind me of those terrible events all the time.

When we visited NYC last summer we went to the observation deck inside the new tower–magnificent views, although I did miss the ability to go outside to see the views as we used to be able to do in the original Twin Tower. The 9-11 Museum is worth a visit too-I hope you were able to see that.

Well don’t get that excited you have won my LittleWanderingWren giveaway which might seem to be a long way to come for a mug, but think of all the fun you would have photographing Melbourne!!!! I am trying to find your e-mail address to discuss offline, but if not perhaps you would contact me via my e-mail contact on my blog?
