Enjoying the blues

My favourite sky is the intense blue of winter

Crisscrossed with ice contrails.

(This photo was taken last winter.)

Crystals

This year winter has been too mild (in comparison)

And so we’ve had to enjoy the misty blues of winter fog

Shrouding a Viking church.

Whichever way you look at it, it’s all good.

  1. That first image is amazing in detail and colour contrast and the second is all in subtle tones. I love the misty blues of winter fog around the church.

  2. The white against the blue creates such a special affect and I love the mystical touch the blue gives to the bottom image.

  4. I’ve missed the blue of that first picture (what a stunning capture!) and am amazed that you can still find beauty in the misty blues, when all I see is grey, grey, grey outside.

  5. You would love our desert skies, if you like deep blue. I tend to get a bit tired of blue skies, since we have it almost all the time.Even now that we’re not supposed to. As always, gorgeous pictures. Sweden is lucky to have you document its beauty and share it on your blog.

  6. Blue-tiful! Enjoy the mild winter. Ours in NY is unusually cold & snowy this year!! Waking to negative numbers & awaiting our next storm 🙂

  8. Wonderful shots again, LadyFi, I specially love the crispy ice crystals on the first photo.
We have had hardly any winter this year, the lowest temperature was -5,4 ÂşC. Normally the average temperature in our winters is about 2,6 ÂşC in our graden. This winter the average temperature of winter was 5,2 ÂşC. Looking outside it is spring now with several flowers blooming already.

  12. Hi, We are home from a wonderful trip to Arkansas with friends. Photos tomorrow!!!!!

Hope you have had a great week. Amazing how different areas of our world can be so different when it comes to weather. You have had a fairly mild winter –and many in our country have had an extremely hard winter….

    Beautiful photos.

  13. The second picture looks the way Oregon always did/does in the Winter — silvery and mysterious (when I was having a good day). Gray and foggy when I wasn’t. The crisp blue and white is lovely….but I know it would be colder.
