Something woke me up far too early (before 5 am).
Perhaps it was the golden silence
Calling my name;
Or the beaver in the lake
As he swam through watery clouds.
Perhaps it was the glory
Of a new day whispering:
Do not miss a single golden moment.
For more gold, please visit: Skywatch.
ah would be pretty cool to watch the beaver…i think it is just the awe you get standing in front of the art of a master painter you know…smiles.

Lovely, but I have to ask, what is on the dock?

Oh, that is a very small jetty with a floating dock boat tied onto its end. The engine and chairs are under the cover. The neighbours take it out on the lake when the weather is good.

Absolutely gorgeous – what a promising start to your day (and now to ours, virtually speaking!) 🙂 Actually, though I was inexplicably wide awake and working on my latest post till midnight last night, I too was gently awakened at dawn this morning (5:30 in my case) – I suppose so I took wouldn’t miss a single golden moment of our own pretty sunrise – which wasn’t nearly as pretty as yours. Those clouds are especially lovely, and make these look like paintings. Even better is the reflection of them, and that glorious color, in the placid water!
Good eagle eye, spotting that swimming beaver! (An early morning commuter!) 🙂

These early spring days are the days we wake up early in order not to miss a moment…the lack of sleep is so worth it.
I’ve been meaning to ask, you said you shoot in raw, are you resizing your images before posting? I’ve ignored that for far too long, and never resized anything..wondering if I should be.

Sunrise, crisp air, stellar reflections and of course one friendly genus Castor strolling home after a long night of doing Beaver shtufffs. Your pictures and words put new meaning to ‘when nature calls’.
Beavers and loons are synonymous with wild and wilderness, so a slap of the tail or shrilling cry go hand in hand with sunrises such as this. Who could not stand on the shore of your lake at 5 am and NOT think this is worth fostering, this is worth caring for. This should remain so one’s children and their children’s children will be able to connect to nature as you do -am sure you must think that? Your images, in addition to saying ‘look at this’, they say ‘hear this’.
Beavers were once extinct in Sweden around the turn of the century weren’t they? I guess that is not the case all these decades later.

I had no idea beavers were extinct over here. I do love connecting to nature and think it’s essential we preserve this for our children and their children.
