Dawn kisses

Dawn is the blush

Of the sky kissing

The water.

(Sometimes it’s worth waking up at 6 am on a Saturday morning and creeping out in your nightie to take pictures!)

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become.” — Steve Jobs

  1. Oh, to experience such a dawn must be compared to finding a hidden treasure at the end of the rainbow. Beautiful capture.
Lovely and very wise quote too, from this century’s greatest visionaries – I do not think I have felt such sadness over a public persona passing away, as I do today. Knowing that he will not be around any longer brings a certain feeling of despair to my perception, as I have been a devoted Mac fan since 1984. I think Apple is doomed, unfortunately. Not any time soon, but in the long run…

  3. Thanks for the quote. What a fitting tribute to a man who lived by what he believed. I am going to keep a copy of his words close by as a reminder to me to live my own life!

  6. Lovely photo on this sad occasion. I read one word on Dianne (of Forks Off the Moment)’s blog which she saw on Twitter. I think it’s apt… “iSad.”

  7. I just heard Mr.Jobs saying this very quote on the radio to a graduating class at Stanford University from a few years ago. With your photo I can see that your are living life to the fullest and listening to the artist within. Thanks.

  8. Thank you for quoting Steve Jobs. I needed to hear those words today. As a writer, we tend to listen to others and forget what our own heart is telling us. I am very saddened by his death, and at such a young age.

    Stars in her eyes,
    she pulls
    the dark veil
    of the Night
    over
    her face.

    Watching the world
    during
    the day-
    the wars,
    the abuse,
    the tears
    she watches,
    the trauma hurts…

    The night
    forces a rethink,
    cool winds,
    brushing the cheeks,
    a quiet,
    some sleep,
    and then
    as dawn,
    as the peace birds,
    and fragrant flowers
    herald better times.

    She unveils
    her face
    and looks down,
    at her image
in the waters of a quiet lake.

    A blushing pink
    face
    smiles back
    at her
    amidst
    breathtaking mists
    rising up
    in glory,
    to herald a new day
    in a new world….

  15. Hi there – I know some people who think that there is only 1 six o’clock on a Saturday – and they miss out on many things as a result.
Getting up early and see the sun rise is reward enough – days like the one in your pictures make it even better.

  20. Timely quote from somebody of whose existence I had only learned the day before his death was announced.
Not having apple equipment I was ignorant of his huge achievements. His personality will be missed. let’s hope his directives will be followed.
