Perfect balance

We celebrated the spring equinox

With three days of snow.

But that doesn’t matter —

The equinox is the time when the world is

In perfect balance:

Church

That moment when the light of day

And the dark of night are equal

All around the world.

Bare lace

And now, here in the northern hemisphere,

We go towards lighter times…

Even if we are enjoying the coldest ever winter this spring!

  2. We all need balance in our lives–but as you know, it’s hard to do!!!! I remember the years when I was working fulltime. My job ate me alive —and I was truly a work-a-holic. As much as I needed to work to support my children, I’m not sure I would do that again. I missed out alot on my children’s growing up years… Oh Well. We must all look forward now instead of backward. Life for me is much more balanced these days… Have a good and BALANCED day.
    Hugs,

  3. If only that balance could be permanently lodged in the human spirit. Beautiful images. The shadows and the colours are just marvellous.

  4. Beautiful skies and a lovely world indeed — even if it is cold!! Your photos always seem to capture an almost other worldly beauty that I do enjoy so much!! Wonderful! Have a lovely weekend!

  5. We’re enjoying longer light here in California, too. The hills are still a rich green from the winter rains, but will soon turn gold. Occasionally, we get snow on the mountain tops surrounding our little rural valley and it’s always a magical sight. We are both fortunate to live surrounded by such beauty. Kiss to Oscar!

  7. Perfectly balanced for a moment in time and then you move towards softer warmer days while we in the Southern Hemisphere look forward to cooler nights with pleasant days …. not cold but delightfully cool.

  8. Yes, in spite of having a heavy snowfall on the first day of spring here, at least it was reassuring to feel the promise of spring in the lingering brightness of light as evening came in. Those ice-clad trees in your photo are so remarkably beautiful: Faerique!
