Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly. — The Beatles
It’s been a tough year for many of us. Knocked down, heartbroken.
But we’re still standing, still choosing to stand up and fly.
Are you?

In the words of Mr. Han, from that lovely film we watched the other day, “Life will knock us down, but we can choose whether or not to get back up”. These amazing birds don’t let a little thing like -25°C knock them down, at least not for long 🙂

One of my favorite songs, Lady Fi. And yes, I am still upright, still defiant, and still just a touch scared.
Luckily, it all strikes me as a bit funny.
Happy New Year.

Lovely photograph, lovely song, and beautiful sentiment.
2010 has been kind to me so far, but I do believe what everyone else has been saying- as long as you are willing to get up and continue the fight, nobody can beat you. Not even Life.
