The art of the divine

While out walking on the frozen lake,

The snow muffling all sound

So that the day was as quiet as the light

That suddenly poured forth from the dramatic clouds

And revealed the reflection of

Nature’s own stained glass window

Laid out at my feet on the snow.

Nature's stained glass window reflected on snow

Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul.  ~John Muir

  1. Oh my, PLEASE OH PLEASE could you do a calendar or book of all these breathtaking images with your poetry? They are absolutely gorgeous. Your writing is also going from strength to strength every time I visit.

  2. Lady Fi, I have done some research and am able to confirm that the first building in my post is indeed a mosque, on the grounds of the school. Students from other schools have been invited to the school and were given a tour of the mosque. I have updated my post.

  3. A stunning photo! And your poetry is beautiful. Our snow is all gone, now, but we could still have more. I think the snow in Sweden is prettier than the snow in Minnesota! I don’t know why but I do.

  4. Behind on reading favorite blogs (computer issues) and have missed the beauty of your posts. Loving the quotes as well as your original poetry. I just scrolled back for a week to be caught up somewhat, but will come back later to give each post the individual attention they deserve!

  6. Absolutely amazing photo. Every time I come to your blog, I think I cannot possibly see another snow photo as gorgeous as the last one you have taken… and you have proven me wrong every single time.

The sky, , the sun peeking through the trees, the reflection on the snow… this is truly a majestic photo.

  7. Gorgeous photo, Fiona, and yes, I can see the stained glass efect on the frozen lake. It must be a beautiful sight to be there in person.
