Living in a Japanese painting

Autumn has been and gone over here —

But I’m reliving some of the leafy beauty still.

One morning, I passed the local kindergarden

And noticed the maple leaves glowing

In the pink sunrise. They were stunning.

Hiking out into the countryside

A lovely pastoral scene unfolded,

Making me feel as if I were living

Inside a Japanese silk painting.

  1. These are very pretty scenes and my favourite is the pastoral one with the gold house in the distance. We are getting our first snowfall here today. There will be lots of car accidents I’m afraid. Wishing you a beautiful week.

Fiona, having lived in Japan for 2 1/2 months, I agree….it does look like a Japanese painting. Very much so!

Gorgeous captures! And the photo of the maple leaves is beyond stunning!

Thanks for sharing the beauty, my friend. Have a faaaabulous week!

  3. Japanese red maples add a nice counterpoint to the golden oaks. There was a beautiful, mature one on our mother’s property. It’s still there, but the house is no longer ours.

  6. I’ve lived 56 autumns. I understand ‘reliving’. Seldom is there a bad one. Is there? I wonder if there exists anyone whom sees Autumn as just a season after summer and before winter.

  8. I wish I can appreciate those vivid fall colors nearby. Unfortunately, we do not have a lot of those in California. At least, I am getting my good dose thru blogs like yours.

  9. Autumn leave always feel like natures consolation for the demise of the flowers of summer. Our trees are mostly bare now too. Such a shame they have to disappear so quickly.
