A few weeks ago, we joined the crush of the crowds watching the Stockholm Pride Parade.
Apart from the dogs, there were a lot of people on floats having fun.
The bold wore adorable hats and gas masks and handcuffed themselves to each other.
The silver seemed to be in a world of his own as he glowed among the brightly-coloured pom poms, like a fish in a coral reef.
The gold played to the crowd with Roman togas and smiles.
And the beautiful – well, they knew they reigned with their golden youth and good looks.
As Asquith once said, “Youth would be an ideal state if it came a little later in life.”

They sure know how to throw a parade!

Nice pix. Yes, Oscar Wilde said youth was wasted on the young. Hmmm, true but what can we do about that?

Had to smile at the youth quote. It’s all-too true. Judging from the pics, everybody had a great time. The Toronto Pride Parade is always a fun show around these parts, too.

A parade is always fascinating to see! A few weeks ago we had the Gay Parade in Amsterdam. I saw it on TV. It was quite a happening.

Luckily, some things of youth can stick around for old-age, but alas – not beautiful bodies such as these!

This summer, I saw Aerosmith live in concert in Athens in Greece. Steven Tyler, the singer, gave me the impression of being an unusually fit, energetic twenty year old. In fact, he is about sixty. Maybe you can just grab youth with both hands and hold on to it, if you’re determined enough. Or if you’re rock ‘n’ roll enough.
All the best,
Bellis

Gotta love a parade! And showing what you believe in while making everybody smile, that’s a win-win!
The gold and silver people remind me of the Oregon Country Fair held each July near where we stay when we’re there — it’s a throwback to the 1960s days of hope and freedom. And the silver man is famous for walking around — in silver paint (only)…
Maybe next year we’ll be there for it and I can blog about it.
