9/11

Sometimes I fear that we have not learnt that much over the past ten years.

Surely terrorism wins when we view ever potential friend as a stranger,

When we condemn people on sight by the way they look?

Violence breeds more violence, or as Gandhi put it:

“An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.”

Compassion and kindness in the face of hate are the most difficult things to show.

But if we want to make the world a better place, then we have to try.

Call me naive, but I still dream of a world without hate and prejudice.

  5. It’s past 10 years after 9/11 and it’s past 6 months after 3/11. Why do human or nature bare their fangs? Call me naive, too. Your message is brilliant. Thank you for sharing.

  6. Terrorism will never win while there are people who are loving, accepting and forgiving. But being those things is hard work. Let’s all here agree that we will try!

  7. Very wise words! I am a fan of Gandhi , and what he says is absolutely right. Yesterday we read in church a saying of Jesus in Matthew 18: 21-22 .He said that we should forgive our enemy not seven times seven, but seventy times seven.. For me there should be no retaliation or revenge.
