One day, a golden light burst onto the scene.
Ruby kindly posed (along with a strange shadow creature).
The sky drew lines and swirls
Against an orange background
As the dashing duo posed in the hope of a treat.
Please note: I’m only posting once this week due to work (am away filming) and taking care of Ruby. She had a uterus infection and had to have an emergency operation to remove her uterus and ovaries. The operation was a success, but she needs looking after.

One of the dogs’ favourite places for a swim
Is the jetty next to the floating sauna on our local lake.
I like it too —
Because of all the photo opportunities it gives!
It’s a peaceful place in the early mornings,
Where you can meditate on clouds and their reflections.
(Photos taken in early May.)

Is that an angel —
Or an elephant —
Trumpeting across the horizon at sunset?
(In other news, WordPress informs me
That I’ve been blogging for nine years!
Thank you for sticking with me all these years.)

One of my favourite early morning sights
Was the old jetty
Stretching into the beyond.
(I’m away all weekend so won’t be able to visit your blogs.)
For more grey beauty, please visit: Skywatch.
Enjoy the view.
Throw out the line
And catch a beautiful
(Lots of events planned over the next coming days, so I won’t be able
To visit your blogs. But thanks for your visit!)

December was a month
Of pink and lilac skies —
Giving us deliciously
Frosted views at dawn.

Somewhere in the woods, next to the lake,
There is a small strip of beach
Called The People’s Park.
There is a dance floor under a round roof
And a dilapidated, little hut.
Still, the location is good:
It’s right next to the water
And has its own jetty
With a charming orange boat
Sprinkled with sugary snow —
Just waiting for the summer.

By the time you read this, we will have received the keys to our new (and bigger) house and I’ll be busy moving.
We’re not moving far – only 2.5 km away – but the lake won’t be right on my doorstep. No more rushing out in sun and rain to record my favourite jetty.
We will still be living near the same lake (but further south) – it’s about a kilometre walk away from the new house. So, I hope to find new views to photograph and share with you.
This jetty has been such an inspirational part of the last sixteen years and I’ll be sad to move – but happy that we have found something more suited to the needs of our family now.
The next week or so will be very busy, so please forgive me if I don’t get round to visiting you. In the meantime, please do keep in touch with me via Facebook. You’ll find me here: Lady Fi on Facebook.

A strange pink glow
Beckoned me out into the storm.
There on the rickety jetty,
Was a lone goose
Staring out into the sunset.
It was a moment full of poignancy and beauty.
Just him and me
And the whisper of autumn.

And you know what?
I think the results
Are just perfect.
