There is a narrow, hidden path that comes out
Next to a gorgeous lakeside house.
As you emerge from the path,
You might find yourself bathed in honeyed light on a clear winter’s day.
The light pours golden and warm
Over the hibernating bees — reminding us that
There are sweet things just around the corner.

The evening sun
Shone like honey in the cherry blossom tree,
Creating dancing light
Behind paper-thin pink petals.
Buds burst open
To drink in that spring treacle
On the edge of light.
Even this shot where I didn’t focus properly
Has a lovely abstract quality about it:
The essence of spring light.
(Photos straight out of the camera.)

In nature, light is the colour
And when the sun bursts through winter gloom
It makes everything glow —
Even the humble frosted bud
And the honeyed tree,
Shining like a star.

I love the way you can hold
The summer light in your hands
And pour it over
Wild fields of clover.
The light gives a perfect auburn background
For a lone flower in the sunset.
It caresses a tree trunk
With liquid honey
That spreads out to catch
The glow of a single shining strand
This is peace. This is love. This is Nature.

I love the magical light of early autumn.
It’s honeyed and wispy;
And golden and sparkling.
And sometimes it twinkles like glitter
Before exploding into thick treacle.

You’re never too old
Or too young
To enjoy the rich, vibrant honey
Of a dazzling sunset
With your best buddy —
(Makes it even sweeter if you’re brother and sister).
