The lull between big snow storms
Is painted in clouds of purple
And blue that roll over the landscape
As the sun slowly rises to say hello.
And, of course, my poser Ruby
Looks good in that early morning light.
(Meanwhile, Simmie just prefers to run around
In circles enjoying the snow! :-))

One morning in late November,
Just as the ice was forming on the lake,
The houses on the far shore were lit up like a necklace of lights.
One in particular was ablaze —
What a glorious view it must be from those windows!
The sun rose slowly
Turning the world into a tapestry of lilacs and pinks,
Stitched together with clouds.

The world changes so rapidly.
Only last week, it was beautiful autumn
And time for swimming in clouds.
The ripples of our actions
Have far-reaching effects,
So it’s wise to act with kindness.
Even a misty and cloudy sunrise
Brings hope and beauty.

Autumn makes me rich
As it leaves its golden coins on the shore of the lake.
Misty pastel pinks
Blend with lilac clouds and autumn trees.
I stand in awe and drink in the wonder.

Enjoy the view.
Throw out the line
And catch a beautiful
(Lots of events planned over the next coming days, so I won’t be able
To visit your blogs. But thanks for your visit!)

Just back from Dusseldorf in Germany
(We didn’t go to Brussels in the end).
After work, we walked along the Rhine,
Enjoying dramatic skies
And the ornamental trees along the river bank.
Spring was in full swing:
Isn’t this magnolia in full bloom just gorgeous!

December was a month
Of pink and lilac skies —
Giving us deliciously
Frosted views at dawn.

A couple of summers ago, we visited the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum
In Sussex, England.
Pretty Elizabethan houses glowed under a big blue sky
And a newly-ploughed field (with a thatched hut in it)
Matched the ploughed furrows of a dramatic sky.
I‘ve got a family emergency and am off to England again. I’ll be back next week.
Until then – take care!

Rainbows are delightful —
Especially when they are decorated with cloud moustaches.
Seen for a few fleeting moments,
They remind us that life is short – and beautiful.

A strange pink glow
Beckoned me out into the storm.
There on the rickety jetty,
Was a lone goose
Staring out into the sunset.
It was a moment full of poignancy and beauty.
Just him and me
And the whisper of autumn.
