The Shard is an iconic skyscraper in London:
95 stories high (306 metres tall), it’s made up of 11,000 glass panels,
And reflects the clouds. (It was very hot, and cloudy when I was there.)
While I was in London, I came across the Shard in unusual places –
Here it is glimpsed from an alleyway on the other side of the river.
On my last night, the sun finally burst through the cloud cover
Giving me a gorgeous view of the Thames and the Shard.

Although we often judge people, countries, cities
On outward appearances, there is far more to us
Than meets the eye.
Despite current political rhetoric and media
That would have us believe we are each other’s enemies,
I truly believe that there is far more that unites us as humans.
We just need to make sure we remember that.
So, here’s to no more hate and a lot more love!
(New York looks good from the New Jersey side at sunset!)
