Luscious cold

It’s minus 15 C and the sun is rising

Cold and honey warm.

Lots of new snow crunches underfoot.

Queen Ruby jumps up on the hay bale as usual.

But wait – who’s that dog wearing the harness?

That’s Simmie’s half-sister, Stella, who is staying with us for a bit

As her owner has broken her foot.

Red berries remind us of summer fruit

Underneath their winter coats of snow.

I come home with frozen hair…

But I prefer to share this photo of my daughter (from years back) with ice-coated hair.

Oh – the joys of winter!

  3. Okay, I am soooooooooo loving these photographs of your snowfall!!! They’re absolutely gorgeous! I really like the one of your daughter because I love the composition and how colorful it is! The one of the summer fruit coated in snow is stellar.

Hey, we got some snow as well. It started late yesterday afternoon and hasn’t stopped. And you know me, I’m jumping for JOY! 🙂

Thanks so much for sharing the beauty, my friend. Wishing you a terrific week!

  4. I always enjoy photos of Ruby and Simmie but how wonderful to see a photo of your DAUGHTER with ice-coated hair!

Also I like the contrast of frigid temps and “honey warm” sunrise. Thanks, Lady Fi!

  5. We haven’t had those kind of temperatures for a few years. My beard gets coated with ice, making me look like Santa Claus.

  7. You know, I am not generally a fan of cold weather but it it really cold and the sun is shining and there is snow and golden light. Yes, I could stand it for a little bit. Great pics!!

  8. Lady Fi – there are not many of us around that would call cold luscious, but I am in your camp on this one! It has become quite the fashion among young ladies to leave strands of hair outside a hat or helmet when skiing here, and inevitably they get coated in snow or ice. The things people will endure in the name of fashion! Enjoy your winter!

  9. Greetings and Salutations! Stella looks like she fits right in. So funny, Ruby doesn’t mind sitting on the haystack in summer or winter. Yes, Queen Ruby of it all. LOL! Ice on the hair….nice capture of your daughter.

  10. Thanks for the visit. I’m no longer on the admin of Your World. I’m glad you fixed it! I had too much grief from people for mistakes made while I was learning. I gave up!

  11. fina bilder.
