Life lessons

The beginning of a new year is often time to take stock:

I don’t make resolutions as they tend to go in one year and out of the other!

But I do hope that I grow and learn a bit every day. Here are some of those lessons:

Make the most of those festive moments with people you love – you don’t know how long they will last.

Try out new perspectives and angles;

Remember to enjoy the view

And have some fun (even if you look silly);

And, finally, take the time to dwell on what you have

Rather than on what you don’t have.

Carpe diem!

Seize more moments here: Our World.

And don’t forget Skywatch.

    I feel exactly the same way, Fiona 🙂 I try to take each year as it comes, leaving myself open to learn and grow. To me, no year is a bad year, they are just what they are – years of learning.

    AWESOME photographs!

    Joyous New Year, my friend!

  3. Ooooo I have to steal that for later use: In one year and out the other! Thanks for sharing these and your other pictures all year long. Happy New Year…

  4. Love your thoughts/lessons!!!! I don’t make resolutions either —but my main goal is always to stay as happy and healthy as I can….

  5. You say So much in a few words. I especially liked this: I don’t make resolutions as they tend to go in one year and out of the other!

    And your photos – well, it’s true – One picture is worth a thousand words. Happy New Year, Fiona!

  6. Great suggestions and insights all. Thanks as always for sharing your view. It took a while to discover that life is more about savoring the moments than looking ahead for those perfect endings. 🙂

  7. I don’t make New Year’s resolutions either…I hate lying to myself.

    Love these photos and what you have to say about them.

    Happy New Year!

  8. Nice! And I would add ‘ and remember that talking to animals is not a sign of madness – in fact, it’s the opposite’

  10. Vilka härligt vintriga bilder.. Just nu känns det som om Sverige fått snö överallt utom i Stockholm det ‘r så grått brunt dimmigt och trist just nu..

  11. Lovely images, especially that first one which I like particularly. Very fitting and thoughtful words as well. Wishing you a lovely start to this New Year, Fi!

  12. Couldn’t look out for more teaching moments alike and like you told changes in perspectives keep thing interesting even though its a same sunshine… glowing things differ. Lovely captured

    Have a great year!

  13. Beautiful photos. I like the last one too. The dog looks full of joy. I learned in your comment reply that you have two dogs who look similar. I remember seeing a photo of the two of them together and thinking it was a photographic trick, lol. Happy New Year Lady Fi!

  14. We can all ‘take a memo’ from our pets. They live in the moment, they love unconditionally, and they have so much fun! Thanks for the wise words and Happy New Year!

  15. Resolutions are easy to make and hard to keep – I love the rolling dog!

  16. Amazing summary of extremely essential life lessons. The one that stood out to me the most is being appreciative of what one has rather than one what does not have. This is truly life changing.
    I am excited to read other blog posts from you!

    Thank you!
