Still grey
I get a lot of comments about how colourful my world is. That’s because I focus on the bright and the colours.
But as you can imagine, we do get a lot of grey days.
Even then, there is beauty in the stillness of the grey;
And in the perfect upside world of reflections.
Bare birches paint abstract pictures in the water;
And the pop of colourful buoys make them look like
Floating sweets.
(The grey almost adds a 3D feeling to the scenes, don’t you think?)

…sunshine and bright skies are wonderful, but beauty can be found every day!

Beautiful photos, Fiona. More and more I’m thinking how much I’d love to visit Sweden. We haven’t been away this year due to Lindy’s death and Bonnie’s adoption, but with Bonnie settling in so well with our dog-sitting friends, we can start to think of travel again.
Meanwhile, I’ll have to be content with your photos…more than content, really, because they’re wonderful.

As in life, some days are in color and some are more pale. Like you, I look for the beauty and charm in both. Soon (I hope) my world will be shades of gray and white. I think sometimes a monochromatic landscape makes us look more carefully to really see what is in the scene. I do love the pop of color from the buoys and the boat.

3D indeed! The upside down boat picture is my favorite! I think photography on grey days pulls out our creativity since we can’t rely on the color for the ‘pop’!

Even your grey days are gorgeous, Fiona! And I for one happen to love grey days, finding them peaceful, calm and utterly beautiful. That’s why fall and winter are my favorite seasons. To me, there is something so artistically stunning about the barrenness of the colder months.
LOVE that final shot, my friend. Stellar capture!
Have a great week!

You got it Pontiac.
I prefer to shoot on and in gray days. In the realm of dirty unkempt fairies gray is sunshine. After all everything in nature is worth reporting on. There is always something looking back at you.

Hello Fi, sorry if you can’t find me on “Our World” – it’s because I keep changing the dates my posts are published in an effort to accommodate the people linking to All Seasons from Sunday through Wed., and I haven’t quite gotten down the perma links on my Apple computer (the weather may also throw a wrench in there, since I live in the mountains). I know this perma link works, lol!
