Drama in the skies

We had a lovely snowfall, which has now all melted away unfortunately,

But I made it down to the lake to enjoy the view before the snow disappeared.

This is our sunset at 14.45!

  1. Beautiful! I especially love the line of frosty trees.
You are much farther north. Our sun isn’t setting till 4:45 these days. Although on a cloudy day you have to turn lights on by 3pm–LOL!
    Have a great weekend. 🙂

Loved that, Fiona! GLORIOUS photographs! That second one took my breath away! I can’t wait for our first snowfall 🙂

Have a lovely weekend, my friend!

  3. Really spectacular! I can feel the majesty of the trees and the wind in the second photo. How lucky you were to be there, and how lucky we are to see your pictures.

  4. Florida is dreary today, very unusual. I long for some colorful drama in the skies. Favorite lines:

The purple bellies of the clouds. Wonderfu!

  5. ‘This is Our Sunset’………jumped out at me. Perfect statement, title, explanation, description to pen to these cool-ish awakening champagne images of sublime colours. Only nature can paint with a feather, yet it hits you like a sledge hammer.

  6. So beautiful! But 14:45 is way too early for a sunset for me! Ours is at 17:30 these days and that feels too early! We’ve finally had a little color in our skies this past week at sunset. It doesn’t rival yours, but I’ve been grateful for the local show. 🙂

  7. I love seeing the skies when there is ‘drama’ going on….. Sometimes I will take a picture and wonder whether the sun will take over from the clouds –or whether the clouds will win!!!!!! Sky Study is SO interesting.

I envy those wonderful landscapes and the light that you have the northern towns … but the cold I do not like anything, I only endure it when I have to do some sports activity.
    Your photos are exceptional.
