Say it with flowers

Small villages around England compete

In the ‘Best Flowers’ competition every summer.

And Bramber is no exception.

Are decked out in glorious technicoloured blooms.

Watering the flowers is quite a challenge —

You start from the top and let the water run down.

Even the windows of the building housing

The public toilets are decked out in petalled finery.

(And yes – Bramber has won the competition several times.)

  1. Breath-taking and fanciful, Lady Fi!

My daughter surprised me with two pots of cream-colored petunias this week, and one red-violet and burgundy mixed. Like you, I cannot live without beauty.

  2. This is so beautiful. I remember we stayed at a B&B in Moffet (Not sure of the correct spelling) England whose 3 stories had multiple window boxes overflowing with beautiful flowers. It was lovely.

  3. What is it about flowers that always seems as though they’re smiling, which in turn makes me smile 🙂

GLORIOUS photographs, Fiona! The colors are absolutely stunning!

Perfect post for the upcoming Spring season!

Thanks so much for sharing the beauty, my friend! Have a lovely week!

  4. Oh, my goodness, all of this wonderful color!
Such a welcome relief from all of the grays and browns we have here right now.
This must have been an absolute dream to photograph.

  5. That is really beautiful and the village definitely deserves to win. I have a powerful urge at this moment to spend the evening watching “midsomer murders’ or some wonderful old Brit-coms — just to check out the village flowers.

  6. Did I already say “how beautiful?” If not…how beautiful! and if I did, it bears saying again. I think I’m going to use my Facebook post for Our World today. Or at least take a look at it and give the situation a re-think. Lindy hasn’t moved from her bed all day. Sigh. K

  7. Oh, how so beautiful! The flowers nicely arranged on the balconies and hanging baskets really go well with the brick or stone walls. This is the place I’d like to visit in England. Thanks for sharing.

  8. that’s a lot of flowers! It gives a special feeling combined with that beautiful typography and windows. Got an instant summerfeeling but still hope that winter stays just a bit longer 🙂

  9. Seeing all those lovely flowers makes me want to go out to the florist and get a nice bunch of tulips. It’s still very grey here, no spring flowers yet, and I need to add some colour to my life. England certainly has the right climate to keep the flowers moist.

  10. It’s a delight to see all those blooms while it’s snowing hard here in Breckenridge. We have lots of town flowers in the summer after the snow finally stops. However, those buildings adorned top to bottom are definitely spectacular.
