A couple of weeks ago, we got the news that our beloved jetty (where we used to live)
Had been removed because it was old and rickety.
That was part of its charm:
We loved the way it curved and warped and bent;
The way it seemed to stretch out to infinity.
It was a big part of the children’s childhood —
Peaceful moments under big skies;
And it was there I enjoyed so many moments
With a best furry buddy.
RIP, dear old jetty – you will be missed!
(Luckily, I took a lot of photos of my favourite place
So there are still plenty to share with you.)
For more wonderful skies, please visit: Skywatch.
The curves and bends gave it a personality and its own charm. Lovely photos of it.

That’s sad they tore it down. It has so much character. In my view, old is better than new a lot of the time.

I was just thinking of that jetty, yesterday.. about how much charm it has. What a shame. Thankfully it will live on in your beautiful photos. It was well used, well loved and well honoured by you and yours.

Missing something we used to enjoy is sure a feel down… but accepting the fact we need a change will make feel better. These moments/photos here make feel moved and I too enjoyed the jetty in the magical photos you composed.

Hello Friend,
I love the first photo. I am glad you took many photos of your favorite place to share with us. 🙂
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me on my blog post as well. I appreciate it. I have a white friend who adopted three black children. My boys have grown up with them. They attended the same school, are involved in soccer together, many birthday parties and other friend dates. My son Sam is very close to McKenna, they both are 16 years old. I am sure my son Sam gets confused as to why people see the color and not the heart like he does with McKenna. She is a very special friend to him and I know he would protect her. So of course talking it over with him, I had to tell him the truth, I get confused about people. I choose to love. I do not think violence and hate will solve anything.
Thank you again, I appreciate your comments.
Have a great week,
Carla

Oscar died two years ago. But Ruby and Simmie loved swimming from there until we moved. Now they jump off stones and small cliffs instead…

I wonder if your photos speak to me because you’re a scriptwriter or they’re just so good. The pooch on the pier, so sweet and suitable for hanging. Remarkable.
