Windows of light

The beach at Baleal, Portugal, is covered in dunes

That are environmentally protected.

Vista copy

One evening, I went out at sunset

To see the dunes rising against the sky

Like the humps of camels

Windows of light

While the sun burst forth

In wonderful windows of light.

  1. It really is absolutely magnificent. You’re so right, those dunes look like camel humps. The colour is beautiful.

  2. The protected humps are very eye-catching alone without the beautiful sky. The sunlight breaking though adds much to the picture. Well done.

  5. Beautiful skies over the water and that lovely, sandy beach. You have a knack for being at the right place at the right time. Or, I think you just devote a great deal of time to finding ideal photographic shots. Beautiful work, once again. Mickie 🙂

    1. Thank you. I actually just strolled to the beach to stretch my legs and wasn’t really expecting much as it was very cloudy. So, I was very pleased to see these little pockets of light!

  6. Yes, humps of camels is an apt description…I don’t recall ever seeing multiple openings for the crepuscular rays breaking through clouds. Great catch..kudos!
