Surf’s up!

Just back from a fabulous week

In Baleal Surf Camp, Portugal

Where the water was cold,

Boards

The kids stood up on their surfboards

The very first day,

Surfing

The skies over the sand dunes

Were so wide and embracing

Dunes and sky

And the scenery wild

When the rain came rushing in.

Rainy beach

WILD. Untameable. And the camera loved it, obviously. Cannot help but think one Oscar would have loved surfing too. Am sure you all had a blast. So the water was coolish, huh. I checked the ocean surfaces buoys for Portugal vs East Coast of Nova Scotia. Portugal’s 18, 19 degrees Celsius rather balmy compared to 10 degrees between Halifax and Sable Island.

    • Yes – I think it’s warm along the south coast. The west coast is the Atlantic and unless you go to a sheltered bay, then those waves are pretty cold – around 18 C when we were there.
