Dawn, unfurling

A couple of weeks ago,

Simson and I sneaked out of the house very early

To enjoy the soft, pink dawn.

Simson

We saw a line of ducks

Flung against the purple canopy of the sky.

They flew past like scattered leaves,

While we remained – marvelling at the way dawn unfurls.

    What a gorgeous capture, Fiona!

And that sky is truly breathtaking! Love its reflection in the water!

Thanks so much for sharing, my friend!

  5. Thank you for the ‘sneak’ preview. Reminds me in a way, of the lines in ‘Old Man and the Sea’:
“Age is my alarm clock,” the old man said. “Why do old men wake so early? Is it to have one longer day?”
“I don’t know,” the boy said. “All I know is that young boys sleep late and hard.”

……….perhaps age is the alarm clock, for man or woman, or those with wisdom be the young or old, are the only ones whom can hear the early dawn colour knocking.

  6. Everybody else in your house missed some gorgeous morning! (I sneak out early too … and I see some good sunrises, but nowhere else but here at your place have I ever seen that glorious lavender sky!
