Rock ‘n Roll Queen

Ruby’s previous owner trained her to jump up

On very tall rocks for treats. She seems to enjoy it.

On stone

Last week, the mornings were cold (minus temperatures)

But Ruby decided to break through the ice for a swim anyway.

She then scaled a tall rock

And decided to share a spring shower with me.

Once out of the water,

She started to steam in the cold air.

No matter how hard he tried,

Simson just wasn’t agile enough to jump onto the top of that tall tall rock!

In the meantime, Ruby remained at the top,

Enjoying the sunshine in majestic solitude.

  1. Ruby is QUEEN of the World up there on that rock… Bet that water was COLD though… Hope you didn’t get too wet when she ‘showered’ you… ha ha … Poor Simpson. He looks like he wants to get on that rock also…

    Great post.

  2. Those are terrific shots of the beautiful Ruby! The shots are so clear, I can see all the strands of fur. Just like a wonderful painting. Happy St. Patrick’s day if you celebrate 🙂

  3. Fiona, I love how you captured the sprays of water and steam coming off Ruby’s fur. Faaaaabulous!

Also, the expression on Simon’s face is so adorably priceless! What sweet eyes 🙂

Have a super week, my friend!

  4. Wow…beautiful babies you have. Jumping of rocks is amazing. My Daisy is 12 years old and she never runs out of energy. I can’t wait for spring so that I can taker her our for a swim. She loves the water too.

  5. The steaming shot is my favorite, and I feel sorry for Simson, poor baby. Those eyes say it all! Great series of shots!

  6. Poor Simson! His face seems to suggest he thinks it’s totally unfair that Ruby is up there on top of the world. Fabulous shots, especially the second one, of two very sweet and handsome dogs.

  7. An excellent narrative of this dog’s chilly bath and rock sitting for a treat. I really like the backlit quality of the light.

  8. These are remarkably beautiful photos of your “polar bear” dogs Fi. The light is magnificent, and they look so pleased with themselves, swimming in that ice cold water!

  9. Shake. Rattle. And hum. Shaken’ what her momma gave her. Alive in the moment, what other reasons are there to celebrate and dance.
