Winter royalty

It was a lovely day for a walk:

The rising sun cast a pink glow on the thousand-year-old rune stone.

Ruby enjoyed the wooden throne

Carved out of an old tree trunk.

Queen Ruby

Winter made berries luscious

With a sugar-coating of ice,

Berries copy

And turned a tarpaulin

Into a work of art.

Someone with a sense of humour

Wrote ‘sign’ on a snow-covered sign!

It was a lovely day for a walk —

And I think Ruby enjoyed it too.

  1. Beautiful as always! I LOVE the last one! But the link to Our World leads to last week’s hosting, I can’t find one for today… Thank you!

    1. The text says that the wife and sons raised the rock in honour of the father, who was a powerful man in the area a thousand years ago.

  2. I wonder what the divining stone is saying. It is always so interesting to ponder the communications of ancient man. Ruby looks as if she is in a trance … perhaps contemplating a psychic reading of her own.

  3. Hello Lady Fi, your dog is a brilliant model and so tough to sit it out in the snow. Thanks for the meme and thanks for sharing. Greetings. Jo

Yes, and that’s what I love about snow, it makes everything look as though it’s been sprinkled with frosted white icing!

LOVE the shot of that old rune stone! Oh, and also, that last shot of Ruby is sooooooo cute. What an adorable face 🙂

Thanks for sharing my favorite season, Fiona!

  6. Beautiful images as always but can we talk about Ruby…. Oh my gosh. What a cutie pie and the image of her is just spectacular, I love it and wish I could reach through the screen and give her a snuggles. 🙂
