One warm afternoon last year,
I was walking in an unexplored forest
And taking photos of Oscar.
Suddenly, I looked up to see a deer
Gazing peacefully at me.
Our eyes locked for what felt like ages.
I felt the deer was trying to tell me something:
That you can find gifts in the most unexpected of places.

I agree.
Unexpected gifts are wonderful.
You are an unexpected gift, Lady Fi, & so is Oscar. xx

In Native American symbolism, the deer represents unconditional love. Now that IS a lovely gift!

I love that first image of the deer!!! Just the way he is standing surrounded by that golden yellow grass!! And the swan on gold in the next post is so luscious!!!
Thank you again for allowing me to send that photo of the goldfinch on the water glass to my Mom! She loved it, thought it was so cute1 And such a change from all my flowers…

Dear LadyFi, once again lovely spare poetic prose plus photographs that put us in the scene. Thank you. I’m wondering if this the “deer” you saw was a pronghorn. The antlers make me wonder. And yes beauty comes unexpected often also. Peace.

It’s such a deeply precious gift to have such a close encounter with a wild animal. If you meet their eyes, you meet their soul, and they yours. I love the shape of the freshly emerging horns, they always make me think of a tiara or a crown. He’s a beautiful boy 🙂

A believer of gifts from the natural world, that is exactly what the deer had up his sleeve. Eye to eye, I would have frozen. This has happen to me, camera in hand and never take a picture. It happens often, go for the picture or just enjoy what the moment offers. It’s a dilemma Both have benefits.
The surreal light washing the meadow that surrounds the dear deer -is paradisaical in the first shot. In the second shot you follow the deer, keeping it focus while the grasses blur creates a fleeting moment. But what sets it all up is Oscar resting along the paths under the forest canopy. Suggesting nothing out of the ordinary expected -an then it does. What an offering.

I see deer in my area often LadyDi, as we live close to the Rocky Mountain foothills and there is lots of wild open space nearby. They still love to come down and munch on our flowers and bushes. They are beautiful creatures so I don’t mind!

guess I’ll just sum it up what I wrote and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog.
I as well am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to the whole thing.
Do you have any helpful hints for inexperienced blog writers?
I’d definitely appreciate it.
