Swan Lake – the frozen version

A while back – before the ice melted on the lake —

Stormy pink clouds attracted my attention.

Swans

Among the reflected clouds,

I saw a feathered group of swans,

Enjoying the dawn.

Iced swans

They remained there for a long time,

As if frozen to the ice.

Later on, they were gone

And only their memory — along with the clouds —

Remained.

  1. stunning images – and beautiful words to go with them. Both are poetry to my eyes and ears. Love that pink sky and the beautiful reflections. Enjoy the start of spring and have a wonderful weekend ahead. and thanks for stopping by my blog this week.

  2. All three photos are beautiful, but the first one is spectacular with regard to color and contrast. Some of the elements like the clouds have a fuzziness and dreaminess in their translucence and they contrast dramatically against the outlines, deep and opaque colors of the dock in the forefront and red home or barn along with the white swans in the distance. It holds my interest quite well. As always, a great eye for a great shot.

  3. Perfect -words and pictures. SPRING???? Yes? Yes!

Whistler Swans and Tundra Swans have all been migrating over head or held up in secluded fields and marshes for bad weather to pass. Every time I’ve been close the weather was rotten or I didn’t have a camera -but have the memory an that’s whats counts.

  4. Love the colors of the last shot. I wish the swans were so much more closer as that would have been an extraordinary shot! Guess they did not cooperate!
