Horsing around

As it’s the Chinese New Year and the start of the Year of the Horse,

Some wisdom from the horse’s mouth seems appropriate.

I moustache you to embrace the year with open arms;

Moustache on horse

To remember that even if life seems to be going backwards,

We can try to deal with problems with grace.

Life has its moments of beauty —

Beauty copy

And of tenderness and love.

Mother and son

A big dose of laughter will stop neigh-sayers in their tracks

And make life better —

Because it’s all about falling and then having the courage

To saddle up and ride again.

  1. I do love horses and these are beautiful shots, bristly moustache and all! I really like the bay in the third picture – and of course the mare and her foal are so sweet!

  2. Ha, ha, ha! You will always rein as queen of the puns. I really miss those silly pun wars we had on Fejan 🙂

Great shots – I particularly like the laughing horse with the Russel Brand locks. Oh, wait a minute, it IS Russel Brand!

  6. Great post, thank you for these gorgeous horses and the words of wisdom. I have never seen braids on a horse’s tail or curls in a mane before, they look beautiful.

  7. I love your horse pictures.. you’ve captures some wonderful, sweet moments. But your word play had me laughing out loud. A punny woman after my own heart. You had me at “I mustache you.” Clever you.

  8. Lol, love those guys. Just want to mush their cute little faces. What do you think? The year of the horse is supposed to be a fast paced one. Apparently we’re supposed to jump at chances and forge our way ahead with ideas to have them succeed. Are you in? I’m not sure but I’ll give it a try. Oh, also, a Vietnamese friend of mine told me that last year a ton of her friends got married because the year of the horse is the optimum year to have a baby. Well, I don’t know about that one…lol. Hope your week is shaping up nicely Fiona. 🙂

  9. I love the first photo of the close up of the horse’s mouth! Very cute. I love the companionship of the fourth photo too – just lovely. And did you take the second last photo? Gosh… what did to say??
