Waters of wonder

New Year’s Eve: so mild that it was warm enough for swimming

In the pink sunset.

Reminding me that it’s always good to jump into the waters of wonder.

Because once you’ve experienced new things, your mind can never go back to its old dimensions.

  2. What a glorious sunset and such a peaceful scene. You live in a real oasis of calm.

As an aside, I see that Miss Ruby is drawn to the water as well. The apple didn’t fall far from that tree, did it? 🙂

  4. Waters of wonder . . . so alliterative and picturesque. I have always imagined Sweden to be cold this time of year, yet you mention that it was warm enough for swimming on New Year’s Eve. I have enjoyed your blog this past year and have appreciated your comments on mine. All the best in 2014!

  7. I’ve been away and didn’t know you have a new dog. They look so beautiful together, both so intent on watching something. I know they see and sense the beauty all around them. Happy New Year to you and your family.

  9. I like the way they are quietly looking at the water or is it some interesting thing out there?

  10. What a beautiful final gift to you from 2013! Amazing to see the lake in an unfrozen state at the end of December! Our friends from England spent Christmas in northern Finland and said it was unusually warm there, too.

I was wondering who Oscar’s new friend is, and gleaned from the comments that she is Ruby and that she’s his relative! I will have to explore your older posts and read her introduction! How fun for Oscar to have youthful company to share his adventures! 🙂

Happy New Year, Fiona – looking forward to another year of your beautiful words and photos!
