Grey matters

Sometimes winter wants to rest

— Not in a burst of colours —

But in silken tones of pearl.

There is a subdued beauty

In the grey —

And, just as in life, the grey

Contains a promise of light and colour.

  1. I like your wording “silken tones of pearl”. Beautiful photos of subdued colors where I can see more possibilities or promises when there are little choice. The second one looks like an Indian-ink painting.

  2. Stunning silvery grey and beautiful lines to describe it. My favourite lines “And, just as in life, the grey Contains a promise of light and colour” It’s very deep!

  3. I can’t say as I blame winter for taking a break from her extravagantly colorful displays. It’s exhausting to be brilliant and dazzling every day! 🙂 It took me quite a long time to appreciate how restful grey is. No doubt I could have shortened that considerably had I known about your blog years ago. 🙂

  4. Oh I need some sunshine on gray days like that. I have gray hair too…or grey..not light brown not blond bloody gray/grey…so it is not my favorite color. However you captured gray brilliantly! 🙂
