Burnished copper

On Earth Day, nature gave us the gift

Of big rolling skies and dramatic clouds;

Big light

Of our local jetty, finally revealed

As the ice melted away

To leave a lake of burnished copper.

Lovely light

The canopy of the sky

Seemed so close and so beautiful

That all we had to do was reach up

And touch it.

Holding up the sky

  1. Glorious skies and captures to match, Fiona! These really took my breath away this morning! The colors are amazing and I love the tree etched against the skies! Awesome! Hope you have a beautiful weekend!

  2. Lots of lovely drama. Mother Nature is so powerful and takes my breath away and you seem to grasp that power nicely with your camera.

  5. Another triumph for both Mother Nature and you! (She gave us snow for Earth Day, so I guess she likes you better!) 🙂

    I especially love that last photo – the person provide a perfect demarcation between the golden water and the indigo water! Bet you composed that shot that way on purpose. That sky above is so amazing. The whole scene was a gift indeed, and one we appreciate your sharing with us!
