I love it when the snow fairies come to visit:
Turning pine trees into candles;
Decorating reeds
With garlands of ice —
And giving them hair-dos
Made out of spiky crystals.
The sunlight filters through
Icy fairy art to warm a long-forgotten leaf
And to remind us that we are intertwined —
Together, we can make
The mundane magic.

These images are stunning. You always take beautiful pictures but these are some of my favorites lately. I’m researching what kind of camera and lenses to get. What kind of camera do you use?

I have a Canon 500D… It’s old now and has been replaced by the 550D. I have a good zoom lens that can also take macro shots.
I’m saving up to buy a Canon 7D – ah well, I can always dream!

My lens goes down to f/3.5 so not bad for a zoom lens.

For all that I like the ice on the trees – I think the wire fence is the best image – maybe it’s the contrast between the made and the natural.

gorgeous Fi… I think mundane magic, the last image might just be my favorite… the ice does not seem to crystalize in that way here… I suppose it has something to do with the dryness and incredibly low temps where you live relative to where I live? Anyway… these are really beautiful!
