Mist, rising

The pink glow of the early setting winter sun

Enticed us outside to explore

The wonders just beyond the horizon.

Viewing the mist

It was a miracle of trees that

Seemed to float in the rising mist —

Mist rising 2

A wonder of purple and gold

Painting the fog with magic.

  1. I do love your foggy, pastel skies! Almost looks “other worldly”!! Beautiful way to begin the day — and mine as well! Have a great weekend! Stay warm!

  2. I was thinking you should be contacting the agency that handles travel promotions for your country…your photos are beautiful, and if they can make us who live in lands of snow and ice want to come and visit your world….this might be a great marketing idea for your country.

  3. Love these photos… That pink touch just adds so much…. We are supposed (according to the weather people) get some snow today.. I hope so–but won’t believe it ’til I see it…

  4. Images are so serene and peaceful. It looks so cold and beautiful. As I write this comment I’m sitting on our front verandah. It’s eight o’ clock in the evening and we are dying of the heat. Strange how we live in the same world and yet experience diametrically opposed weather conditions. It’s a funny world. .

  5. Just breathtaking, as always! To anyone who says that winter isn’t a beautiful season, I say, “Take a look at Lady Fi’s photos and you’ll be singing a different tune!” 🙂

These photos are so soft, yet so vivid, that they made me feel the need to put on a sweater. 🙂 I could feel that frosty cold pouring out of them. That light, those colors, that mist – all so magical. The third one is my favorite. Something about those grasses in the foreground is so evocative!

  7. beautiful! and I really love the last photograph! The silhouette of the plants look so fragile in the cold weather and they add a lot of depth in the image.
